  • Description is exactly "A Sunday, April 8, 1951 *Florence Times* report on the alleged killing on Friday night, April 6, of 31 year-old Florence African-American resident Cecil Horn by fellow black residents Victor Coleman and his wife Edna Coleman. Mr. Coleman reportedly found Horn in bed with Mrs. Coleman (a teacher at the Veterans' Training School in Sheffield which Horn attended) at their Portlock Avenue, Florence home. A fight broke out with the result that Horn suffered a fractured skull and multiple fractures of the jaw and face, dying of his injuries at Eliza Coffee Hospital. Both Colemans were arrested and a warrant for murder was sworn out by Horn's widow Emma Horn. The case was turned over to county officials, who at the time of publication, were still investigating the alleged murder."
