Sherrif's sale of Peter, Nancy, and Emma
This is a newspaper advertisement for a sale of Peter, 45, Nancy, his wife about 30, and Emma about 14. The sale was to take place at McRae's Corner in Tuscumbia to satisfy an "execution in favor of the Decatur Bank vs. W.H. Reese and others."
"Important sale of land and negroes" A.S. Christian
This is a newspaper advertisement for a sale of property belonging to A.S. Christian, including "18 likely negroes, consisting of men, women, boys, and girls; among which are several excellent house servants."
"$50 Reward" for runaway slave, Cato
This is a newspaper notice offering a reward for the capture of Cato, about 23 years of age, 5' 6 or 7 inches tall, who ran away from the Franklin County plantation of John Bell.
"Three valuable negroes" at auction
This is a newspaper advertisement for the auction of three enslaved people: a boy, 18 or 19; a woman, 21 or 22--"a good house servant"; and a woman, 26. The auction took place at Van Husen's corner in Tuscumbia.
Two runaways committed to Franklin County jail
This is a newspaper notice that two men, Peter, 22, and Anderson Conner, 20, had been committed to the Franklin County jail. Both were alleged to have been owned by Rufus K. Flax of Attalla County, MS.

"150 Dollars Reward" for Nathan, a mulatto boy

Henry, an escaped enslaved man, committed to jail in Marion county
This is a newspaper notice that a man named Henry was being held in the Marion County (Alabama) jail. Henry claimed he belonged to a man named Sims.
