Description

This is a newspaper advertisement announcing that two men, named James and Isham, had escaped from the Patrick Andrews plantation near Florence. James was described as 22 years old, 5'10", "spare made, and walks very straight, yellowish complexion, full eyes, and has several scars on his forehead that were caused by cupping when he was a child."
Isham was described as 5'8" or 9", 21 years old, "dark complexion, very coarse featured, remarkably large feet and walks stooping." Andrews suspected that the two were making their way to Petersburg, Va.
