Description

In March of 1935 African-American Fred Newsom is convicted and receives a life sentence for the murder of an aged black man near Oakland and the beating of the man's wife, while the trials of local blacks Tommie Armstead for the murder of Earl Pride and Mose Davis for rape were to be tried before the end of court that day.
