Store in Florence, being awakened by noises in his garage, had apprehended a young unnamed African-American boy attempting to steal his automobile, holding the youth at gunpoint until police arrived. The boy confessed to being a member of a local gang of Black youths who had banded together to steal cars. Following his confession the other boys in the gang were also arrested."
