A Thursday, December 15, 1949 Florence Herald report that special screenings for Florence's African-American community of the movie "Lost Boundaries," starring Beatrice Pearson and Mel Ferrer, based upon William Lindsay White's "Readers Digest" non-fiction story of the same title, about a light-complexioned African-American physician in New Hampshire passing as white, would be scheduled that day at the Norwood Theater at Seven Points, in North Florence.
